Who We Are

 

Located in Springfield Missouri, we are an operating agency of the Council of Churches of the Ozarks, Contracted through the Missouri Department of Health. CCFP continues to play a significant role in enhancing the quality of child care in 30 counties in Southwest and South Central Missouri. Approximately 450 licensed family day care home providers participate in our financial reimbursement program, which reimburses them for the USDA approved meals and snacks served to over 6,500 children collectively. The program enables child care providers to serve higher quality meals without straining other program resources.

Throughout the years more and more mothers are having to assume full responsibility or supplement living expenses for their families. The Child Care Food Program continues to play an important role in the day-to-day care of young children. Currently they serve 279 providers representing a 30-county area, with approximately 6,500 children enrolled.

With children receiving two thirds of their daily food consumption while away from home, the Child Care Food Program helps thee day care providers keep the cost of day care down while contribution to our future generation through good meals and snacks that help develop strong minds and bodies. How can I participate in this program?

  • Become a licensed day care/group home (Daycare must be conducted in a private residence).
  • Be caring for at least one day care child.
  • Fill out and submit an online information request.
  • A staff person will set up a time to visit with you in your home and help you enroll in the program.

 

What do I need to do after I enroll?

  • Feed your day care children using nutrition guidelines.
  • Once a month, submit menus and attendance forms. (Forms and envelopes provided).
  • Have one of our staff visit with you every four months while you are serving children a meal.
  • Attend one training session per year.
